Redmond O'Hanlons, Poyntzpass v Ballyhegan Davitts
Ballyhegan senior men made the mid-week journey to Poyntzpass on Wednesday night to face Redmond O'Hanlons for the first time in a number of years. Heavy rain through the week had meant the players had to contend with a sodden pitch. Davitts were able to
contend with the conditions better and ran out comfortable winners
for the second fixture in a row. Full Time: O'Hanlons 0.03 - Ballyhegan 3.17
In defence the full back line of Sean McNally, Mark McKeever & Ronan Devlin were excellent, repelling almost every attack. Tony Keegan was very dominant, particularly in the first half delivering some good ball to the forwards and scoring a fine point.
Paul Courtney again dominated midfield whilst John Guy seemed to cover every blade of grass.
The biggest improvement in the team was in attack. Accurate and early balls kicked in, fine running into space and neat interplay allowed every starting forward to get on the score sheet, with Jack Wilson in particular catching the eye with a fine total of 2.02 from play, in difficult conditions!
