Saturday May 7th

Ballyhegan Davitt’s V Grange St Colmcille’s

Ballyhegan continued their blitzing start to the league campaign with a comprehensive victory over near neighbours, Grange St Colmcille’s.

From the throw in the Davitts showed their intentions with a score after only 30 seconds from Clodagh Mc Cann.

A rapid succession of points followed for the Davitts. The first Ballyhegan goal was scored after a great move involving forwards & backs, finished by the ever-present Brenda Mc Cormack.

A second goal soon followed by Eve Lavery which left Ballyhegan with a fifteen point lead at the half time whistle.

Half-time:          Ballyhegan 2.14 - Grange 0.05

The second half saw a Grange comeback which saw two quick-fire goals.
However, three unanswered points from the excellent Clodagh Mc Cann, Danielle Morgan & Lisa Knox steadied the Ballyhegan ship.

The rest of the half was a scrappy affair, with the Davitt’s not really having to get out of second gear to finish the game comfortable winners.

Full Time:          Ballyhegan 2.20 - Grange 2.09

All players can be proud of themselves with their attitude & desire to win. The players would like to thank the faithful supporters who turned out and are grateful to all those would have contributed to the team so far.
No league match this week but a sevens competition in Clann Eireann.
