Intermediate Reserve League

St Paul’s v Ballyhegan Davitts

Ballyhegan travelled to St Paul’s on Friday evening for their first Reserve fixture of the season. The game was played on the excellent St Paul’s pitch and spectators were treated to a competitive 60 minutes of football from a very young Ballyhegan side, as the club continues its policy of developing its Senior panel through the Reserve side.

The following players represented Ballyhegan: Hussam Al-Janabi, Michael Hamill, Jarlath McCann, Sean McNally, Daniel McKeever, Gary Hamill, Roger McCormick, Cormac Fearon, James McKeever, Gerard Morgan, Shane McCormack, Conor Loughran, Conall Gallagher, James McKeever, Matthew McCann. Subs used: Conor McCann, Mark Devlin and Aaron McNally.

Scorers on the night were: Michael Hamill 1-0, Gerard Morgan 0-2f, James McKeever 0-2 (0-1f), Conall Gallagher 0-1.

Man of the Match was goalkeeper Sam Al Jananbi who made 4 outstanding saves and also kicked the ball out efficiently, also Roger McCormick, Jarlath McCann, Sean McNally & Gary Hamill worked tirelessly in the backline, while Cormac Fearon continuously attacked the opposition with strong runs from the midfield where James McKeever got through lots of work and linked up play from defence to attack on a number of occasions.

Gerard Morgan and Conor Loughran provided safe outlets for long balls out of defence and linked well with their forwards. Daniel McKeever was strong in defence and also very good when switched into attack in the 2nd half. The introduction of three Minor players at half time added an even more youthful look to the team, who all can take credit from their performance against a strong St Paul’s outfit.

Full Time: St Paul’s 3.13 – Ballyhegan 1.05
