Ballyhegan Park n Stride!
Ballyhegan Davitts GAC hosted the inaugural "Ballyhegan Park n Stride" 10K Race on Saturday past, raising much needed funds for our club & of the Marie Curie Cancer Care charity.
An excellent turn out of over 120 participants took part in the 10K race & 5K fun run / walk, creating a great atmosphere & buzz around the club.
Many local runners and footballers from the club turned up to compete against athletes from all over Ulster including Eglinton, Larne, Newcastle & Omagh.
The club would like to thank all the participants for making the race a great success particularly those who travelled great distance to be apart of it.
We also need to thank The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Loughgall Country Park, local PSNI & Athletics NI, for helping to facilitate the event. Additionally we'd like to thank the following local businesses for supporting the event:

Ballyhegan Summer Scheme / Youth Club
Another extremely successful summer scheme has now passed and a report, including some photos, is available on our web site:
The club would like to take this opportunity to thank our youth club co coordinator Joe McKeever, all the youth leaders, and of course the very enthusiastic participants and their parents!
Catherine McCormack is gauging the level of interest in training tops as we are putting an order together. Can a coach from each age group please let Catherine know if there is interest in purchasing training tops for both coaches and players? Thanks.
If there is anyone interested in representing the club refereeing GO games (U12s), please get in touch. Training is provided! This opportunity is open to everyone, young (good for your CV) and old, male & female!
Mizen Head to Malin Head!
Club members (and players of sorts!) past & present - Shane & Dermot O'Hanlon, Adrian Woolsey, Paul & John McGrane (The Street) and Johnnie Quinn are undertaking a cycle from Mizen Head to Malin Head this summer in aid of good causes. Over 4 Days in August 12 novice cyclists will complete the 400 mile journey the length of Ireland in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care, Tiny Life and The Michela Foundation. A big effort has been made by all the inexperienced cyclists to prepare themselves for this huge challenge and your support would be very much appreciated.
Should anyone wish to donate to these great causes please log on to www.Justgiving.com/mizentomalin-thelonghaul or text the code MTMC 88 and the amount you wish to donate to 70070.
The group raised over £700 from the table quiz last Friday night in the Goodyear Sports and Social Club Craigavon!

A clothing bank now resides in the club car park. This is a new initiative to raise cash for our club, so we’d like to urge our members & local community to deposit any unwanted clothes and textiles. The items will then be exported across Europe and Africa. By doing so the club will get a donation for every bag of clothes recycled.
Thank-you in advance for your help and support.
ACCEPTED ITEMS INCLUDE:
· All types of Clothing (Adult, Children & Baby)
· Bags, Shoes, Hats & Belts
