A bus will be leaving the Club Rooms at 9am on Saturday morning and coming back at about 10pm Sunday night - Monday 29th August is a bank holiday. The club intends funding the transport by fund raisers and so the total cost will be 100 Euros per person inclusive of a dinner on the Saturday night. The deposit will be £40 and has to be paid by THIS Friday 10th June if anyone is interested. These are always enjoyable weekends.

St Oliver Plunkett’s PS:

The friends of St. Oliver Plunkett’s P. School would like to thank every one who supported our recent fund raising event held at Ballyhegan football field. Especially local business people who without them we could not have ran this event. The weather was kind to us as the sun shone all day! Every one young and old had a fantastic day, with children taking home lots of prizes! A special word of thanks to the principal and staff of the school for their continuous support. We do hope to be back in September for another year of fund-raising, Again a big thank-you from friends of St. Oliver Plunkett’s.

Ballyhegan and Kilmore Community Heritage Association:

An informative and enjoyable day was had by all at the recent Ballyhegan and Kilmore Community Heritage Association Annual Outing. The day began with a visit to Patterson's Spade Mill at Templepatrick. Here the visitors enjoyed a coffee and scones reception and what followed was an entertaining history and account of the making of spades in Ireland.

After the Spade Mill the group then travelled to Belfast where they lunched at the newly refurbished Ulster Museum, the afternoon was spent visiting the extensive exhibits at the museum and also there was an opportunity to take a walk through the nearby Botanical Gardens which were in full bloom.

This concluded the programme of events for the Heritage Association for this year.  Plans are already well advanced for the new year commencing in September. If you would like to be on the email list for the association please contact bkheritageassociation@yahoo.co.uk
